Cookie Policy

This is a structural placeholder. The headings, the anchors and the order below are the real shape of this document, and the prose under them is not: it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and it is not yet binding. Nothing on this page should be relied on until this notice is gone.
Contents
1. What a cookie is here
A small value your browser keeps and sends back on each request. This product uses one for its own purposes and permits third parties to set their own for the two listed below.
2. The one that is required
dg_guest. It holds a random value and nothing else — no name, no email, no browsing history. It is what makes it possible to create a Game without an account, to be recognised as its creator afterwards, and to open your own Game without locking it.
It cannot be turned off without turning off the product: refuse it and every Game you make is lost to you the moment you navigate away.
3. The one you ask for
dg_lang. It remembers the language you picked with the language switcher, and holds nothing but that — the language tag, and nothing else. Two people who both chose Chinese have identical cookies, so it cannot be used to tell anyone apart.
It is written only when you use the switcher, never just because you visited. We do not ask permission first, because you asked for it by clicking: a preference you set is allowed to be remembered. Clear it and the site goes back to following your browser's own language setting.
4. Analytics cookies
Used to count how the product is used in aggregate. They are not required and can be declined.
5. Advertising cookies
Set by the ad networks that pay for this product. They may be used to personalise what is shown. They are not required and can be declined.
6. Turning them off
The consent banner on your first visit is where the choice is made, and it can be reopened at any time. Your browser's own settings can block cookies outright — including dg_guest, with the consequence described above.
7. Changes
A new cookie is added to this list before it is set, not after.
